Czech vocalist, violinist, and actress Iva Bittová has conducted workshops at music schools, universities, and performance art centers across Europe. She conducted the Czech girls choir Lelky for eight years and has worked with children extensively in a variety of settings.  Of working with young people, she says “the most important aspect of communicating with them is having an open mind and a lot of energy.  What I strive for is to get them to express their deepest emotions, to bring out their souls through music, and to engage in creative process right there in the workshop.”

Now residing and performing in the US, she is available to share her unique approach to composi-tion, improvisation, and performance through insightful demonstrations and exercises in the classroom.  Bittová places special emphasis on the influence of natural sounds in her music and stage craft and draws upon her classical training, her award-winning stage and film work, and last but not least, the rich folk traditions of the tiny Moravian villages where she spent her formative years.
